Newlyn’s 2013 Fish Festival is yet again going to be crammed full of activities and events for the whole family. Taking place on August bank holiday Monday (26th) the festival aims to educate its visitors on the sustainability of commercial fishing while also raising money for various charities including Fisherman’s Mission.
The bank holidays roster will be filled with various Chef demonstrations, guest lecturers, live music and water sport competitions. Highlights include lots of stalls selling local produce, a super auction in the fish market, Lugger rowing and Jet Ski racing!
Special Chef demonstrations and chats will come from a variety local and national chefs at all levels. Highlights include head chef Keir Meikle from the Navy Inn, Chef and social entrepreneur Prosenjit Sanjay Jumar, Chef Robert Wright from the Michelin award winning restaurant ‘untitled’ in Penzance, Chef Annie Sibert from the Seasfood Cookery School in Mawnan Smith and finally local chef Ben Tunnicliffe from the Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn.
