Chefs of Tomorrow Serve Today’s Pensioners

On Friday the 10th of May behind St Johns Church in Tonbridge students from K College took part in a master chef styled competition under the supervision of chef lecturer Danny Davies.

The young chefs had to prepare and serve a 2 course meal within 2.5 hours for 25 regulars of the Hildenborough old people society (HOPS). The student created menu started with salmon and poached egg entrees followed by a lamp hotpot with seasonal vegetables.

The event was put on as part of the college’s future chef project which has proven very popular with the students. Next week another team of students will prepare and serve a meal for the pensioners who will in June give their verdict on both dishes and announce a winner!
