Exeter Christmas Market

The annual Christmas Market will be returning to the Cathedral green on Saturday 19th November until Sunday 18th December. There was concern after the disastrous fire at the Royal Clarence Hotel at the end of October that the Christmas markets would be unable to go ahead, however, it seems that the council and organisers have done everything they can to ensure that the Christmas market can continue.

So those that were looking forward to exploring the markets, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the different foods and drinks will not be disappointed!

They released on Facebook that “The market, which includes 86 hand crafted wooden chalets, offers continental and local artisan products and two bars, will be located on Cathedral Green and at the front of the Cathedral itself. A chalet that was previously used on a rotational basis by businesses from Fore Street has now been donated for use by independent retailers in the Cathedral area, who have been closed since the fire took place.”

The market will be open:

Monday to Wednesday: 10.00 – 19.00

Thursday to Saturday: 10.00 – 21.00

Sunday: 11.00 – 18.00

So perhaps if you are looking for a little inspiration in the kitchen, the Exeter Christmas Market could be the perfect place to pick up a delicious new recipe. Remember as chefs, you never might know when that new recipe might come in handy.
