BBQ Tips

The sun is shining and BBQ season is upon us. Take a look at our top tips for having the perfect BBQ:

  • Ensure you have all the necessary equipment in advance. If you have a coal BBQ make sure you have coal bags or fire starting bags. If you are running your BBQ through gas ensure that you have enough gas for your planned BBQ event.
  • Prepare your BBQ and heat it up before your guests / customers arrive. You don’t want to keep people waiting an unacceptable amount of time for their food. Avoid disgruntled customers or hungry family and friends by heating up the BBQ in plenty of time prior to their arrival.
  • Plan ahead. Often at BBQs there is often a lot of unused food which ends up going to waste which ultimately costs you money. If possible cater more accurately for the amount of people you are expecting. There will always be the odd exception to the rule however you should work out a rough estimate of how many burgers or sausages you are going to need to cook.
  • Add that extra something to your BBQ food by preparing in advance a few summer favourites. The garden salad, roasted vegetables or jacket potato will never go a miss.
  • Particularly when you are in the grilling stages of preparing your food make sure you stay at your BBQ at all times to prevent any food from burning. You will need to turn your food occasionally to be sure that it is cooked evenly all the way through.
  • Always check that your BBQ food has been cooked through thoroughly before serving it you guests.
  • It is essential that you clean your BBQ after use but remember to let it fully cool down before you attempt to do so.
