Top Food Trends in 2017

As 2017 is coming to an end we take a look back at three of the popular food trends we have witnessed over the last 12 months in the UK.

The Rise of The Coconut
Coconut products have seen a huge rise over the last couple of years. At first we saw the huge uptake of coconut oil being used in cooking, followed by the likes of coconut milk, coconut water, coconut butter, coconut flakes and much more. The coconut family seems to offer many health benefits as they are packed full of vitamins such as C, E, B1, B3, B5 and B6 as well as being rich in fibres and minerals.

Healthy Snacks
Are the days of reaching for a bar of chocolate a thing of the past? Probably not, but we have definitely seen some healthier alternatives enter the food market in the last year. Many people now tend to be searching for lower sugar and high protein snacks that will satisfy those in between meal cravings and keep them full for longer.

Cookie Dough Crazy
The UK certainly has appeared to have gone cookie dough crazy. Despite the increase in the healthier snacks, there has also been an increase in cookie dough deserts/ meals, perfect for those who love to indulge. We’ve seen cookie dough pop up shops, to countless cookie dough videos flooding Facebook.
