We are delighted to announce that we are the headline sponsor for the upcoming Surfaced Pro surfing competition.
This is the second year that the Surfaced Pro Competition will be run by the UK Pro Surf Tour and the Cornwall College after the successful launch in 2016. The event will be looking to attract competitors from all over the UK as well as Europe, Australia and South Africa.
This competition is the first surfing competition with equal prize money for both men and women, which is a great message to promote.
The competition has several junior categories ranging from Under 12’s to Under 18’s, as well as Open Men’s and Women’s categories, where the prize money is £2000 for each.
There is a new scoring criteria to encourage progressive surfing in competitors. The two best waves count towards scoring, and the highest wave score points will be doubled. Judges will focus on the quality of the manoeuvres when assessing competitors.
The event will run on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of June at Watergate Bay in Cornwall, and we’re going to be there – we’ll be reporting with a blog featuring some photos and information on how the competition went.
