Encouraging Certain Menu Choices

From the moment you step foot in a restaurant there will be subtle tactics in place to persuade customers to relax, pick certain meal choices and ultimately spend more money. Here are a selection of tactics thought to be commonly used by head chefs and restaurant owners: 

~~ Inclusion of Menu options “For Two”

~~ Arrangement of prices – scattered to make it harder for people to compare/ search for the cheapest

~~ Use of boxes – where dishes that the restaurant want to promote are included

~~ Upper right corner is where people tend to look first therefore the Chef’s favourites are often placed here.

~~ Use of photos to emphasise certain dishes

~~ Descriptive language to enhance dishes and make people hungry
