5 Ways To Be A Great Chef

1. Team Work– Without team work a kitchen would simply not work. With such unsociable hours your work colleagues become some of your best friends whether you like it or not. By working well in a team you can increase productivity.

2. Multitasking– A great chef is adept at handling many tasks at once. By doing this you stay on top of your work in the kitchen dealing with multiple orders with different food choices.

3. Be a perfectionist– It is important to be a perfectionist, if you are not happy with a meal don’t send it out, the customer would (most of the time) be happier to wait slightly longer than have a poor meal served to them. Cooking is a science and every ingredient and measurement has a specific role that a chef must be continually aware of. A great chef never stops perfecting their technique.

4. Passion– Passion is a must for any chef. As a Chef you will take a lot of criticism and have to work long hours; this means you really have to love your job, so passion is key.

5. Decision Making– By being able to make quick decisions you will have an advantage over many chefs as your kitchen will be faster paced.
