How to Avoid Food Poisoning this Christmas

The festive period is nearly upon us, make sure that this is an enjoyable time for all and help prevent any food poisoning with these top tips.

-Only put your buffet food out and your beloved turkey just before you are about to eat! Don’t let the food get too warm as this is perfect breeding ground for bacteria and germs to multiply.

-Make sure you research in advance how long your turkey is going to take to defrost, our Christmas meat is often a lot bigger than what we normally cook throughout the year therefore, it is important to get this right for the big day.

-Place the turkey in a dish when defrosting to catch any liquid and help avoid any cross contamination.

-Don’t wash your turkey, this can cause splashes of water to cover your work surfaces with bacteria.

-If you freeze your left over turkey make sure your eat within 24 hours of it defrosting.

Merry Christmas All
