Food in the News

There was a time when many businesses including our favourite restaurants feared that they would have to shut their doors when the economic downturn hit the UK. However, in 2016 things are beginning to look more positive again with the public appearing more willing to spend their hard earned cash.

Recent statistics and a report by this is money earlier in May this year suggested that spending on “recreation and culture” had increased by nearly 8% year on year last month.

This came as welcoming news for restaurant owners and food diners that began to see sales and bookings increase again. This welcomed changed and increased popularity in the culture lifestyle has seen many towns and cities invest in new eateries. Take Exeter city centre for example, with the recent development of Queen Street Dining.

With such positive trends beginning to appear, lets hope that the hospitality industry continues to boom.
