Attractive salary – let’s be honest here, this is probably going to be one of the most influential factors that depicts whether someone will apply for a job or not. Of course if you are looking for someone to fill a high pressured chef job in a famous or established restaurant then the salary is likely to be pretty high.

Experience – As time consuming as it is to create a good job description, it’s also pretty time consuming filling out one job application after another. If people don’t have the right experience, then you aren’t going to want to hire them. So make sure your job description includes the level of experience required, as an added bonus you only have to sift through those applications that will be worthy and have the skillset for your chef job.

Are there career prospects? – Again this is something that people are interested in. Particularly those of a younger age, they will often want to progress up the food chain so to speak during their career. Let them know if they are going to be taught new skills or whether they will be trained to progress in their role.

Working Hours – The candidate applying for the job is likely to have other commitments too, so they will need to check that the job will fit into their schedule. There has also been a lot more attention paid to work life balance in recent years, so if your job description is offering a position for an obscene amount of hours a week, those that might not be deemed humanly possibly, you aren’t likely to get many people to apply.

Job Role – Give a little detail to what the job position entails. Will they be required to plan menus, wash dishes, manage staff, order stock, you get the picture.

By including all of the above points in your job description you are much more likely to appease though job hunting, and you are more likely to get quality candidates applying for your job.
