Questions That You Should Ask in an Interview

Many people don’t take the full advantage of having an interview with a potential employer, this is an amazing opportunity to ask questions. It can be a great chance to find out more about the role, whether or not this job would be for you and even more about the training provided to you.

Questions will not only improve your knowledge of the industry and job role as a whole but will also show intuitive and interest to the employer – this will put you in good stead for the interview.
Prepare

Sometimes the pressure of an interview can get to you and it may be hard to think of good and informed questions on the spot.

This is why it is important to prepare questions before you go to an interview, especially as you have the time to research the company and ask informed questions – this will show the employer that you have done your research and you’re serious about this role.

Research about the company, who are the clientele, is there more than one location of the business, who is the head chef, what does the company specialise in? These are all good aspects of the business to research prior to the interview.

This research will give you scope to ask questions that have an informed background to really show off your knowledge but also to find out more about the company that you may be working in.

Stuck for Ideas?

It is a good idea to have some standard interview questions banked just in case you need something to fall back on or you may just haven’t thought of asking before.

Here are a few of our favourite questions to ask at an interview:

-Can you tell me more about the day to day responsibilities of this job?

-Is there a chance to move up in this company in the future?

-Who do you consider as your companies top competitor?

-What are the next steps in this interview process?

-What is a typical work week and is overtime expected?

These are just a few of many standard questions you could ask for any job role but these will help you to gain a better understanding of the company and the role you are applying for
