MasterChef: The Professionals, Who Will Take This Years Title?

For the last few weeks we have been amazed by the skills of the young chefs who are committed to making it to the top in the culinary world. Judges, Marcus Wareing, Gregg Wallace and Monica Galetti have narrowed it down and the semi- finals are upon us.

What started off as 48, now stands at 6. Craig Johnston, Tom Moody, Lousia Ellis, Jamie Park and Steven Lickley are still in the running. They have battled through the grueling skills tasks from cooking without gadgets, making the perfect pasta to cooking a delicious dish dedicated to someone that has inspired them.

Just one week remains and the excitement certainly doesn’t stop there, to help them decide their winner of 2017, we will see the remaining contestants sent to France to learn in the two-Michelin-starred kitchens of Mirazur, before the winner will be announced on BBC Two on the 21st December at 8pm!

We take a quick look back at two previous winners and see where they are now. Derek Johnstone the first winner of MasterChef The Professionals has had much culinary success, from working in Michelin Star restaraunts across Europe, to being a head chef at Chez Roux, Greywalls Hotel in Scotland in 2010 to becoming head chef at Bothwick Castle. Steven Edwards, winner of the 2013 series has since spent time creating his own identity and opened up his first restaurant earlier this year.

We wait in anticipation to see where this year’s winner will end up!
