Tips To Improve Your Presentation

Experiment with different dish sizes

You’ll be amazed the difference it can make changing the size of the dish you are serving your food on, or the type of dish you serve.

Usually smaller dishes create more focus on the food that your customer is eating and it reduces empty space, which is a great way to improve your presentation.

Smaller portions make for better presentation

The smaller your portion size, the easier and more effective it is to make your presentation more refined.  You can really create emphasis on the main components on your dish.

Be careful though, as you still have to satisfy your customer with a good plate of food, so don’t reduce your portion sizes too much!

Keep sauce seperate

Having sauce in a ramekin or small jug can really tidy up the presentation of the dish you are sending out.

By allowing the customer to add the sauce at the table, it gives you the chance to really show off your presentation before the dish is covered in sauce.

Herbs are a good finishing touch

If you’re struggling to find that finishing touch on your dish, you can always choose from a selection of herbs that can add a great finish, not only with colour but with taste as well.

Experiment with colours and symmetry

A dish that looks like a mirror on both sides is a huge plus when it comes to presentation as it emphasises a professional touch and it looks very attractive to your customers.

Also don’t be afraid to be experiment with colours, as fresh, bright colours can really bring a dish to life.
